These are

Christmas vocabulary games

, grammar games, spelling, and Christmas listening activities to learn English online. Each sections has a few choices of games. Play through each section and you'll be well versed in no time.

This game focuses on Christmas vocabulary with four main sections. There is a learn Christmas vocabulary section, vocabulary solidification games, and a Christmas words spelling section. There are questions and answer games to improve listening and conversation. The grammar points and yes/no question games are associated with the ESL Young Learners Curriculum - Unit 4 and beyond.

The questions and answers for this game are similar to these:

  • A: What's she?
  • B: She is an angel.
  • A: Is that a candy cane?
  • B: Yes, it is./No, it's not.
  • A: What are these?
  • B: They are Christmas lights.
  • A: Who is he?
  • B: He is Santa Claus.

Other notes:

  • In the grammar section students learn to use 'what' and 'who'. They will also practice singular vs. plural 'be' verbs, and work with both singular and plural pronouns, 'it', 'he', 'she', and 'they'
  • The grammar section uses the determiner (demonstrative) pairs 'this'/'that' and 'these'/'those', but doesn't require students differentiate between the pairs. For example the question will use 'this' or 'that' but doesn't have both as an option. In the writing activities, the game will take either as an acceptable answer.
  • The spelling game will accept the vocabulary and the word with an article, "Christmas tree" or "a Christmas tree". However, students must use plural forms for plural nouns - 'presents', not 'present'.
  • For a full list of the vocabulary for these activities, see the flashcard link below in the teaching materials sections.
